Piano Pirates and Loan Sharks

Disclaimer: I'm in a bad mood because I've got a cold and I spent all my money on a bachelors degree.

Pet peeve: When classical music recordings (ex: Pandora's current song "Waltz by [insert alive pianist here] on [insert new-agey album title here]") omit the actual composer. Alive pianist did not write that waltz. It may be featured on his cd but the reason it exists is because Frederic Chopin wrote Waltz in C-sharp Minor Op. 64, No. 2 back in the 1840s. Pandora - fail. You know who you are - fail. I may like your rendition, but if I ever want to actually download your music (which I am currently listening to via your website) I may contemplate illegally pirating it as a passive aggressive reaction to your inability to give credit to one of my favourite foreign dead guys (and yes I realize a rendition of the piece is technically yours, not Fred's, but just pretend I'm right on this point).

Another pet peeve: When Sallie Mae takes all my money. Correction: When Sallie Mae takes all my money but makes me pay them back ever so slowly while their outrageous interest rates (8.25% in 2005? really?) increase my total payment to the point that their CEO can take regular weekend trips to Bora Bora on his/her private jet. And you know what sucks? As I survey the shackles of my current payment plan I realize you've not only stacked the cheap ones first so you can gorge yourself on more interest later, but you've also impeded me so much so that the only hope I have of fighting back is to pathetically make an unnecessarily sizable payment out of spite. So there, have my spiteful money, Sallie Mae. You suck. I dislike you. In fact, if we were at a big party in a room full of happy people with great food and you were standing in the corner all alone and looking awkward I would think twice before walking up to you and making small talk. That's right, think twice. How 'bout them apples?

So it's a nice waltz... and a nice rendition. Still not purchasing it though...

You sure showed those Sallie Mae executives. I think I'll join you in your spiteful paying...That'll teach 'em.
